Jean and Pete Memorial 5k (2019)

Vendor Fair, 5K Run/Walk, Memorial Mile Walk, Kids’ Fun Run

Online pre-race registration and day of event registration will take place.

Registration for the Vendory Fair will begin January 23, 2019. Pre-registration for outdoor events begin February , 18, 2019 and will continue until April 20th.- Registration WILL RESUME the day of! First 50 pre-registered members will receive a free t-shirt.

Why:

Peter Onofre succumbed to lung cancer on April 16, 1990. He was 47.  He left behind his loving wife, Jean, and their three children: Mark (12), David (9), and Maryellen (5). Nineteen years later, Jean passed away from breast cancer on April 24, 2009.  Cancer affects millions of people every year and this family is determined to join in the fight against cancer so that other families may be spared the heartache that they have become all too familiar with.

Proceeds:

All donations and proceeds are split between the local Nancy Quatrini Fund, American Lung Association, and National Breast Cancer Foundation

Purpose:

This event’s mission is to help those within our community get the care that they might otherwise not be able to afford, as well as contribute to the research devoted to curing various types of cancer.  Cancer is not picky; it affects EVERYONE no matter age, race, or religion.  This event is meant to raise funds to fight cancer and bring a community together.

This is something that the Onofre family would like to turn into an annual event. Each year, they would like to support and honor the victims and survivors of various cancers.
