Smallfoot Trail Fest (2019)

Smallfoot Trail Fest
July 27, 2019
Mt Pisgah State Park, Troy, PA
The Smallfoot Trail Fest was created to inspire kids 12 and under to get outdoors, try the sport of trail running, and boost their confidence in outdoor exploration. Pisgah Runners, ReVibe Gear, and the PA Trail Dogs have all teamed up to offer this event free of charge for participants. We are working on providing some other kids' activities along with the trail run, so stay tuned.

The course will be about 3 miles long with a few small hills for the kids to challenge themselves. There may be some small stream crossings and muddy sections — the kids will love them! The course will be well-flagged and staffed with volunteers to guide the racers. There will be one aid station along the route. No runners will be out there alone at any point. Parents/Guardians are allowed to run with their kids if needed but should not sign themselves up for the event. If for some reason a parent can't run but still wants someone to be with their child, we may be able to offer a "pacer" to run with them. We will have a lunch for the kids after the race along with other activities. There’s a great playground and a free swimming pool adjacent to the start/finish line. The playground will be open all day, and the pool will open at 11 am. Make sure you bring your swimsuits to cool off after the race! Canoe, kayak, and paddleboat rentals are all available at the lake as well.
Registration is free but all kids must have a signed waiver by a parent or guardian. Registration ends on July 8th or if we reach the 300 runner cut-off. There will be no day-of registration, so make sure you sign up in advance!
