Maple Madness: Mud, Sweat & Syrup 5k/10k

DESCRIPTION

Do you love trail races? How about maple syrup? You're in luck, because we have combined the two! Oh, and there will most likely be some mud, which is certain to get yourself into a sticky situation. When you combine all three: Trails, syrup and mud, you get "Maple Madness: Mud, Sweat, & Syrup!"

Choose from the 5k or 10k distances, both starting and finishing at the Dewy Meadows Maple Farm sap house (or "sugar shack", depending on where you were born). Both courses will have a mix of short dirt road sections, single track, field crossings, logging roads, and whatever else we decide to throw at you. It is sure to be a challenging and super fun course, no matter which distance you choose. 

Pancakes and syrup will be provided for finishers because you can't have syrup without pancakes, amiright? There will be water and coffee at the finish, but runners are self-supported as far as anything you need on course. There is no aid station on course, so you must carry in/carry out any hydration and fueling needs.

Bonfire and sap house tours after you finish, and with luck, the weather will cooperate and allow for a sap boiling day as well! Dewy Meadows Maple Farm will have maple syrup and products available for sale, so don't forget some extra cash to take home some awesome fresh, local, products and help support the farm! 

All registrants before March 16th will receive a race t-shirt with their entry. Entries after March 16th will not include a race t-shirt. 

Male and Female winners of the 10k will receive a jug of syrup and a steak! Both directly from Dewy Meadows Farm.

Run Bradford County Race Series (2022)

Run Bradford County (Facebook) will once again host a slate of races to keep you moving in the county's parks in 2022.

 -Run With A View V: A clearly marked 5k course through the woods and paths of gorgeous Mt. Pisgah County Park. This is a trail race not a road race. You’ll be running up/over/around/through rocks, tree roots, grass, dirt and a few hills. It is a little more challenging than your normal 5k run and is not stroller friendly. You will DEFINITELY have fun! Shirts will be available to the first 100 registered runners

-Sunfish Shuffle 3 Hour: This is a lap race (running or walking) and the participant that runs the most loops in 3 hours will be the winner! Each lap is a total distance of 1.0 miles with an aid station available.

-Sheshequin Path Half Marathon: Bradford County’s point-to-point half marathon will take place along the beautiful shores of the Susquehanna River. The route begins at 9 am in Sayre, PA, and follows along the river through an area rich in Native American history.Runners will experience 1,219 ft of elevation change throughout the race, enjoying some challenging hills, valleys, and beautiful fall leaves! Local hotels and motels will be offering special rates, and the Hornbrook campground will offer free camping to all runners.The race start will be at Riverfront Park located at 100 Riverfront Park Rd, Sayre, PA 18840 and end at Hornbrook Park at 1241 Hornbrook Road Towanda, PA 18848.  Water stations will be set up along the route and registration open at 8:00am.There will be a bus to shuttle participants from Hornbrook to the starting line but no bus to shuttle races back to the starting line after the race. There will also be food and refreshments for after the race.The race benefits Down Syndrome Awareness and all proceeds received will be donated to the group Walk for Our Buddies.

It is almost time for the 38th Annual Guthrie Gallop 5K & 10K race.  The Guthrie Gallop will be held in downtown Sayre live and in-person!  This course starts and finishes at the historic Sayre Theatre.  The course runs on local streets through the Athens and Sayre Boroughs.  *All appropriate COVID-19  safety guidelines will be followed.

 

Kids Fun Run - The Kids' Fun Run (ages 10 and younger) is free and there is no official registration process for our young trotters!  Near the race day packet pick-up area at the Sayre Theater on race morning, the kids can fill in a paper with their name and enter in a drawing for a free raffle prize!  The first 50 kids receive a free gift!

• 9:00 a.m. - Raffle drawing  at the Sayre Theatre under the marquee
• 9:15 a.m. - All children ages 10 and younger will line up at the intersection of S. Elmer Ave and W. Hayden St. and run down S. Elmer Ave to the Guthrie Gallop finish line in front of the Sayre Theater marquee. Parents can run the Kids' Fun Run with their little gallopers for free!

Chief Wetona Challenge (2022)

Race Date: May 15, 2022

Both races will start at 10:30 am

Race is capped at 350 runners  - there will be no race day registration! Online registrations will be accepted until May 1st or until sold out!

The Chief Wetona Challenge is comprised of one of two distances. You can choose either the 7 mile course or the new shorter 4 mile course. All participants, family members and spectators are invited to join us post race for a pancake brunch and other delicious treats!

Both courses run through the beautiful Mt. Pisgah State Park. Trails are mostly double track and elevation gain is around 900 ft total in the seven miler. The first loop takes you through the woods of the park  and the second loop takes you around scenic Stephen Foster Lake.  The four mile race will use the first loop.

Don't worry - we kept the fun downhill start AND the "downhill" finish ;)

Proceeds from the race will be donated to local charities.

The Arc Grand Prix Run/Walk (2021)

 

The Arc Grand Prix Run at Watkins Glen International is a 3.4 mile run/walk on the internationally acclaimed motor racing track in Watkins Glen, New York. The event includes a 1 mile walk for walkers.

Watkins Glen International (WGI) was long recognized as the home of the United States Grand Prix, hosting the event for 20 years between 1961 and 1980. Today, Watkins Glen International hosts road races in nearly every class, many exciting events.

As you race (or walk) on one of the most famous racetracks in the world – you will also be supporting a charity of choice in Chemung and Schuyler Counties. All proceeds from this event will benefit The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler, a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization providing critical supports and meaningful opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism, and their families. The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler is an affiliate of The Arc of the U.S. and a chapter of The Arc New York.

Black Forest Ultra 100k

Pine Creek Challenge 100M, 100K, 50M & Marathon (2021)

 

100 mile, 100 kilometer, 50 mile and marathon distances, all on the Pine Creek Rail Trail in beautiful Wellsboro, PA! 100 mile relay option also!!!!

The "Pine Creek Challenge" is just that, a place to challenge yourself by seeing how far or how fast you can run. It will be a scenic trail run along Pine Creek in northern Pennsylvania. The Pine Creek Rail Trail stretches 63 miles from Wellsboro Junction to Jersey Shore and is repeatedly listed as one of the finest bike rides in the Northeast. This section is through the "Grand Canyon of the East", the Pine Creek Gorge. The Gorge stretches for 47 miles. It is nearly a mile wide and 1,450 feet deep at its deepest point. This section of Pine Creek is listed as a National Natural Landmark. It's popular with canoeists and rafters in the spring and trout fishermen are drawn here all year long.

We have set up an out and back course that uses 25 miles of the upper canyon section. We will have the start/finish at Asaph. The 100 miler runners will go 2 out and backs to Blackwell, passing through the canyon 4 times. The 100k folks will go once to Blackwell and return. The 50 mile course will be ½ of the 100 mile course, going once to Blackwell. The marathoners will turn around just below Tiaghdaton.

Join the Sullivan County High School Athletic Booster Club this summer for the Annual Griffin 5K Run/Walk! A 3.1 mile, relatively flat course around scenic Lake Mokoma on pavement, gravel, and trail surfaces. There will be a water stop at the halfway point. Refreshments will be provided at the finish, as well as medical services on-site.

WHERE: Lake Mokoma, Laporte - Sullivan County, PA. Lake Mokoma is nestled in the heart of the Endless Mountains in Sullivan County, PA at an elevation of 1,750 feet, near the county seat of Laporte.
* Race starts at Lake Mokoma Beach Parking Lot (look for signs)
